Recording and editing the radio trailer

Today Charlotte and I went to the recording studio with our chosen person to record the voice over and radio trailer. We gave her the script which she read aloud and was then recorded into Adobe Audition. After we where happy with the recording we then transferred it into Adobe Premiere and edited the sound levels and cut the parts we needed to use. We then had to drag voxpops from our documentary into the radio trailer which we are going to use, however we only needed the audio so had to unlink the audio and image and delete the image.

Editing

Today Charlotte, Ashleigh and I made a lot of changes. We added more cutaways in the penny williams interview as her interview is long therefore it keeps attention and makes the documentary run more smoothly. We did this by unlinking the audio so that it could be deleted than add the image over the top. We also added on screen graphics which meant the audience knew who was being interviewed, also following the codes and conventions we dissolved the text in and out.

Scripting the voiceover

As a group we believed that a fact or statistic would fit well in our documentary. Therefore did research where we came across this website.

Editing

Today we changed the sound levels on our documentary. this is so that no parts of the documentary are louder than another part. this makes it sound more professional. Also we had to make sure the sound was at an appropriate level and not to loud. this meant we had to make sure it was under -6.

Editing

Today we continued to edit. One of the techniques we used today was shortening the opening titles by changing the speed and duration.

Photographing, filming and capturing

Today me Charlotte and Ashleigh used an SLR camera to take images for are opening sequence however we do not know if will we use these yet. We also filmed and captures someone licking a lollipop for are opening sequence.

Filming Margaret Ross interview and asking opticians

Today me and Charlotte filmed the interview again, this time framing the interview better by making it more close up on her eyes to give it focus. As well as filming some stock footage again. We also asked around opticians to see if they would be willing for us to film and construct a possible interview with them.
